Growing up, my grandfather used to make fudge every time we visited him. To this day, fudge (of any variety) is one of my all-time favorite snacks because of that. Now that I am an adult, I make this delicious treat at least once a month.

My choice? Mauviel pot at Amazon.

If you too want to learn how to make the perfect batch of fudge, let me be the first to tell you – the type of pot you use when making fudge can have a huge impact on the outcome of your snack.

If you get a cheap pot that distributes heat unevenly, and you will end up with fudge that is cooked in some places and still raw in others. Get a nonstick pan that isn’t capable of handling the high temperatures, and the Teflon will leak into your food. But if you get the right pot, then you will already be halfway to making the perfect batch of fudge.

This copper pot is perfect for making fudge, and it looks amazing while doing it. You can purchase the Mauviel Copper pot in three different sizes of 1.2 quarts, 1.9 quarts, and 2.5 quarts.

Because of the excellent heat conduction properties that copper has, this pot gives unparalleled heat distribution and you will never have any hot or cold spots with this pot. Also, because copper is such a dense and durable metal, you will never have to worry about the pot warping due to extended exposure to high temperatures.

When you are making fudge, you want to be sure that you are using the highest quality products for the best results. This pan is just that. It distributes heat perfectly and keeps the sugar that is in the pot from clumping together and ruining your dish.

Should you get the Mauviel Copper Saucepan?

This saucepan looks nice and is made with the quality that you will need in order to get proper heat distribution. It is also strong enough to withstand high heat without warping and bending. It comes in two different sizes of 1.5 quarts and 3 quarts.

It is made with a solid body with 18/10 gauge high-quality stainless steel and an aluminum core. The stainless steel handle is riveted to ensure the handle stays cool to the touch, so you don’t burn yourself while handling the pot. It also comes with a stainless steel lid that securely fits on the lip of the pot to trap in heat and moisture.

This saucepan is dishwasher safe (although I would recommend hand washing it) and can withstand temperatures as high as 500 degrees Fahrenheit.

This is not the highest quality pot you can buy, but it is definitely one that is capable of handling your needs for cooking fudge. It distributes heat exceptionally well and handles high levels of heat gracefully. This is a product that I would recommend to someone who wants a high-quality pot but doesn’t want to go all out.

This saucepan from Homi Chef is a beautiful looking unit that comes in a 1.75-quart size.

It has a matte polish finish with stainless steel that will handle heat fairly well. This pot is able to heat up relatively fast and is totally nickel-free.

It is constructed of a 7.66 mm thick construction to keep it from warping due to heat exposure, and there is no non-stick coating (this means no toxins will leak into your food).

Should you get this pot?

This is a good pot for somebody who is not able to budget a lot of money for cooking supplies, but still needs something that is a relatively high quality that will provide good heat distribution and won’t warp. This may not be the highest quality pot that we have looked at today, but it is certainly worthy of purchasing.

Wrap – Up

If you are going to be making fudge, then you absolutely have to have a pot that is made to withstand high levels of heat and is capable of giving top-notch heat distribution. If you try to go the cheap route when getting a pot for this snack, then the taste and consistency of it will suffer. All 3 of these pots will work for you, but my opinion is that the Mauviel copper pot is the absolute best. Of course, it is also the most expensive as well.
