Look in an average American kitchen. You will likely find a dozen eggs in there. Eggs are by far the most popular item that we eat for breakfast, and it’s been that way since the early 1600’s when breakfast was beginning to grow in popularity.

The short version: I like the di Oro FLEX Spatula. See it at Amazon.

When making eggs, you probably use a non-stick skillet, so you need a non-stick spatula. What is the reason for using non-stick spatulas? Well, that is two-fold really.

Why you need a non-stick spatula for eggs

First, you don’t want to use something that the eggs are going to bind to, effectively ruining your omelet when you try to flip it. Second, using metal spatulas on nonstick pans are a sure fire way to cut the life of your skillet in half.

So what type of spatula should you use when making those bacon cheese omelets you enjoy so much? Well, we are going to go over that. Today we will look at three types of spatulas that will not harm your pan or your eggs.

Upgood 2 Pack Kitchen Spatula Set

The Upgood set is a terrific buy for someone who needs to stock up on their kitchen utensils but doesn’t want to spend a crazy amount of money. It comes with two spatulas, one for smaller work such as crepes, and one for the bigger capacity work for burgers and a whole pan of scrambles.

High-heat nylon

They are multifunctional nylon spatulas with 14-inch handles that can withstand temperatures up to 410-degrees Fahrenheit. The ergonomic handles are flexible, soft, and have finger molds built into them for maximum grip during use.

These spatulas have beveled edges to help them slide under the eggs so you can flip them without breakage.

Safe for non-stick cookware

The Upgood set is safe on all cookware and bakeware, making them some of the most versatile cooking utensils you will have in your kitchen. They also have a lifetime guarantee, 100-percent money back lifetime warranty.

Should you purchase these?

If you want a set of spatulas and don’t want to spend a ton of money, these are a good bet. Nylon cooking utensils are extremely versatile so you will definitely get a lot of use out of them.

The issue I have with them is that dried on food will stick to nylon like glue. If you do not be sure to clean these spatulas immediately after using them, you will find clean up to be a pain.

OXO Good Grips Large Silicone Flexible Turner

I really like using silicone products when I am cooking with non-stick cookware. They are resistant to extremely high temperatures, easy to clean and are able to slide under your food with ease.

Silicone coated stainless steel

This silicone spatula has a silicone coating bonded to stainless steel. Giving it a sturdy base, so it doesn’t give too much when you are trying to flip your eggs, while still remaining safe to use on non-stick surfaces.

High heat, good handle

This spatula is resistant to temperatures all the way up to 600-degrees Fahrenheit. The handle is roughly 12.5 inches long so you don’t have to put your hands too close to the heat while cooking.

Should you get this one?

Silicone spatulas are so great because liquid slides right off of them. This means that when you are flipping omelets, you will never have to worry about the egg sticking to the tip of the spatula and breaking when you take it off.

The stainless steel frame takes away from the flexibility of the silicone just a bit. But it is nothing that will hinder you while cooking, and it is something that is actually very necessary when flipping heavy foods. Go ahead and make a giant omelet.

With the right spatula, an omelet this tasty will be much easier to make.

Di Oro Living Chef Flex Silicone Spatula

This spatula has an ergonomic grip with a flexible turner that is very easy to slide under eggs. The thin blade helps the spatula to glide underneath food and the non-stick silicone turner keeps the food from getting stuck on the spatula.

Flexible silicone on flexible stainless

The Di Oro spatula has an s-core internal stainless steel support technology, which is really just a fancy way of saying that this spatula has a silicone coating over a stainless steel core. It can withstand temperatures of up to 600-degrees Fahrenheit with pro-grade silicone that is BPA free and FDA approved.

Safe for non-stick pans

Because it has a silicone coating on it, it is safe for any type of cooking surface you are using.

Should you get this one?

With this, you get a silicone spatula with a solid stainless steel body for a good price. The handle is specially designed to feel good in your hand, both in shape and in texture. Even when your hands are wet. A spatula that feels good in your hands will be a joy to use. And anything that makes me want to cook more is a winner in my world.

Wrap – Up

When you make eggs you want a spatula with a non-stick turn, as well as one that isn’t going to damage the surface of your cookware. Silicone spatulas are the best way to do that. Of course, if you aren’t willing to spend the money that comes with purchasing silicone utensils then the nylon spatulas will do the job as well.

My choice today is the Di Oro found at Amazon. It’s got all the benefits of silicone coated stainless, with a uniquely designed handle that makes flipping eggs fun.
