Like talking to a wet mop

Mopping – such a common, everyday chore, yet something you may have never really considered, right? If you think about it, there are several types of mops out there.

I can remember the school janitor walking down the hallways, the big, wide mop going back and forth, back and forth. In the several restaurants and bars that I have worked at over the years, I recall at the end of every night, the big yellow bucket full of slop water, mopping up stale beer, spilled shots and broken hearts. And at home as a child, my mother yelling at us kids, “don’t walk on the floors I just mopped!”

Then, all of a sudden, you are an adult, and you have to make these major decisions in life, like, what kind of mop to use on your hardwood floors. Need more tips on how to keep your space clean and organized? Look no further.

What kind of mop?

The material of the floor you are mopping determines which type of mop you should be using, as well as the technique you should use. For smooth floors, such as your beautiful hardwood, a mop with a microfiber pad which is machine washable or disposable is the best.

Hardwood floors, even sealed ones, do not like water. Water puts a lot of wear and tear on the finish, and eventually will warp the wood. As I am sure you know, hardwood flooring is not cheap, so getting the longest life out of them is very important. A microfiber mop has electrostatic properties which attract dirt particles, allowing you to avoid harsh soap or chemical solutions (although some sprays and solutions may be used to specifically clean hardwood).

There are so many products on the market, it can be stressful choosing the best mop suitable for your home. Let’s look at some of the mops that function best for cleaning your prized hardwood floors.

You got time to lean, you got time to clean. Let’s face it, although there are the few exceptions, cleaning just isn’t all that much fun for most of us. Cleaning does not have to be difficult, however. If you research and buy the proper products to specifically meet your personal necessities, you will notice that cleaning becomes a breeze. For example, cleaning your oven and keeping your fridge in top shape can also be super easy with these tips and products!

Depending on your needs and price range, there is a perfect mop out there to keep your hardwood floor impressively clean and shiny for years.
