Finding a mixer that meets your needs can be challenging. Often, stand mixers take up more space than they’re worth. The other alternative, mixing things by hand, takes far too much time and effort. A hand mixer, on the other…hand, takes up little space or time! Far out!
Here’s my favorite hand mixer on the market today. Check out the options at Amazon.
With so many choices, however, choosing the right mixer is a challenge. So, to help out my fellow bakers, I’ve put together a list of 5 top rated mixers!

Advantages of Hand Mixers
Hand mixers are becoming increasingly popular in kitchens these days and for good reason! First and foremost, they are generally cheaper than most stand mixers while performing the same function. While you have to sacrifice the ability to perform other tasks while mixing (stand mixers run automatically), that’s often an even trade-off for the better price.
Another major advantage is how easy they are to clean. Often the beaters or attachments detach super easily and can be quickly cleaned in the sink or dishwasher. This isn’t the case with stand mixers.
Not to mention the space situation. Hand mixers can be stored anywhere they’ll fit – cabinets, drawers, etc. and some even come with storage cases to keep everything neat and organized. Stand mixers need a large amount of space on your countertop and often don’t fit anywhere else. If space is a concern for you, go with a hand mixer.
And of course, they are incredibly easy to use. Most come with a one-touch speed function and are lightweight, making them ergonomic and safe machines for anyone, from kids to the elderly, to use.
Limitations
Like anything else, there are also going to be some drawbacks to using a hand mixer. They tend to have less power, and therefore mixing capabilities than stand mixers. For heavier mixing jobs with thick batter or dough, you’ll be better off with a stand mixer. They can also be messier than stand mixers since the mixture can fly everywhere if you don’t use the proper technique.
Some brands have accounted for these issues though, with higher power and a feature that gradually increases speed to minimize potential splatters. The very best hand mixers you can buy are listed below!
Cuisinart HM-90S Power Advantage Plus
This Cuisinart handheld mixer has everything you could possibly need in a mixer. With its simple on/off button and single touch speed control, this model is easy to operate one-handed. It offers 3 low speeds that make it easy to keep that cookie dough in the bowl. It also comes fully equipped with a 220-watt motor and automatic feedback for maximum power and efficiency.
There are several attachments, ranging from a dough hook to a chef’s whisk, beaters, and a spatula. It also comes with a recipe book and an instruction book. In addition, the attachments fit into the bottom portion of the storage case. What more could you want?

Oster 5-Speed Clean Start Hand Mixer
The Oster mixer has quite a bit of power behind it. Its 250-watt motor has enough energy to mix up even the thickest of batters and dough. And, all that power is easy to control. With 5 different speeds and a “burst” button that raises the horsepower to 320 peak, you’ll be mixing in no time. It also has an option called “clean start slow,” which gradually brings up the speed of the mixer so that your mixture doesn’t splatter everywhere! Why hasn’t anyone thought of that before?
This hand mixer has a great set of beaters and whisks for all your mixing tasks. They are made out of chrome, so they’re incredibly durable and easy to clean. Though it may not be as easy to store as the Cuisinart, it’s a quality, good-looking machine.

KitchenAid 5-Speed Hand Mixer

Though it only comes with 2 stainless-steel turbo beater accessories, there are many others you can purchase. The oversized beater-eject button makes it easy to disconnect the attachments when you’re done. You can go ahead and just drop those beaters right in the sink or dishwasher!
The round, easy to clean cord also locks into either side of the mixer so you can have a greater range of motion with your mixer. With a nice and quiet motor and 5 speeds, this is an awesome machine.
This model is well-designed, with an ergonomic, rounded handle. The case has an air vent to prevent clogging, and it’s got a prop that lets you set the mixer up when you’re not using it. For the design-conscious, it also comes in a variety of colors!
